About Photoshop Single Row And Single Column Marquee Tool 2

CREATING BACKGROUNDS:

The main function of Single Row Marquee Tool and Single Column Marquee Tool is creating backgrounds.

1.  First set background color of your choice. Here I took black.

2 . Go to FILE menu and click on NEW option.

3.  Then a box appears, in that box make changes of your choice or follow the image and press ok.

4.  Now create a New layer from Layer palette and select New layer (by default it is selected). Selected layer is highlighted with blue color.

5.  First select Single Row Marquee Tool and draw some horizontal lines. Then select Single Column Marquee Tool and draw some vertical lines as we created in previous tutorial. Look at the following image.

6.  Go to Tools Panel and select Brush Tool or simply press “B” in keyboard to select the Brush Tool.

Increase the brush size, to do this press closed bracket “ ] ”.

7.  Now change foreground color with any one of your favorite one. Here I took “red” color.

8.  Now click and hold mouse left button and rub over the lines randomly . don’t release mouse button until the completion of rubbing.

9.  Again change the foreground color with your favorite color. Here I took green color and again rub over the lines as we did earlier.

10.  You will not see any change at first. But after the completion of rubbing, press "CTRL+D" to deselect the selection. Now see what you have just created. You will be now able to see all the changes and we finally created a beautiful background with lines.

CONVERTING ANY IMAGE INTO A BACKGROUND:

We can not only create backgrounds but also convert any image into a background with Single Row Marquee Tool and Single Column Marquee Tool.

1.  Open an image with attractive colors.

2.  Now go to Tool box and select either Single row marquee tool or Single column marquee tool. Then click at the center of the image. Here I am working with Single column marquee tool.

3.  ow press "CTRL+T" This will create a boundary box around the vertical selection. Then put cursor at the middle handle and drag to right end.

4.  Again put cursor at the middle handle to drag the remaining half to the left end.
Now you have done.
Finally an image converted into a background.
